The 4P’s Jingle-Making Contest

Department of Social Welfare and Development continue its vision to "a society where poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals, families and communities are empowered for an improved quality of life" with 4P's (Pantawid Pamilayang Pilipino Program) Jingle Making Contest.

Someone is planning to submit musical composition but will be perform by others with internal arrangement.

If you are a Composer or musician, it is your time to be heard. Here are the mechanics on how to join.

From 4P's blog:

1. The contest is open to all aspiring musicians and music enthusiasts. Contestants below 18 years of age must submit a parental consent allowing them to join the contest.

2. Up to five (5) members are allowed.

3. The theme of the contest is “Kayang-kaya ng Pinoy Tumawid Tungo sa Kaunlaran”. The jingle must be able to highlight the theme. The lyrics must contain the importance of health and education in the fight against poverty.

4. The jingle must be an original composition. Lyrics can be in English, Filipino or a combination of English and Filipino.

5. Any musical instrument can be used as accompaniment at the composers’ discretion. Acapella is also allowed.

6. Entries must be submitted in MP3 format and must be burned to CD. Contestants must be willing to perform the jingle live. The duration can be to a maximum of 2 minutes but not less than 1 minute.

7. Each group or individual is allowed to submit only one entry.

8. All entries must be placed inside a brown envelope with name at the back, to include the following information: Properly labeled CD with the track title,composer/performer’s name and contact information; Lyrics of the song should be typewritten or printed legibly in an A4-sized bond paper. Missing lyric sheet can be caused for rejection of entry; Duly accomplished application form available at the DSWD Regional Office/4Ps NPMO.
