Google Page Rank Update – A Predicted Reality?
What is the reality on Google PageRank update? Webmasters around the world including me is waiting for the next PR update. As it shows by Google for several years, PR update take places four times a year, and it is usually done every 3 months. Webmaster treat is as the most important metric system on the importance and value of website.
Before the start of the year, I made an assumptions that PR update would take place into the following date range:
First PageRank (PR) Update: March to April
Second PageRank (PR) Update: June to July
Third PageRank (PR) Update: September to October
Last PageRank (PR) Update: December to January on the next year
But due to the following reality that:
1. Google didn't update PageRank during June to July.
2. Google made minor PR update during the mid-July.
Something change my mind and I made a prediction that maybe comes into reality. Google forbidding and disallowing website owners to sell back links, as you may know PR is the measurement factor in setting advertising value for a website, but most webmasters prefer to pass the PR juice despite of Google's warning. Many webmasters believe that advertising and selling links is in the control and decision of website owners itself and not Google.
Here is my assumption, upon reading again the comment of Susan Moskwa of Google:
We've been telling people for a long time that they shouldn't focus on PageRank so much; many site owners seem to think it's the most important metric for them to track, which is simply not true. We removed it because we felt it was silly to tell people not to think about it, but then to show them the data, implying that they should look at it. :-)
Google knows that a lot of webmaster a selling links and passes the PR juice. This is why in my own forecasting, Google will implement per batch updates, where there would be no more Major PageRank update. This might be the reason why some webmaster experiencing a massive minor updates, and even myself experience a minor update on some website. But this is only an assumption, if the major PR update is not this month, the possible next PR update would be September to October 2010, and PR update during this year is only 3 times.

August 18th, 2010 - 12:57
creamy
August 18th, 2010 - 18:07
I agree sir, and with the new .co domains, Google is probably having a hard time on making adjustments. But still, they should have made an update to those who were already old in their indexed sites.
August 20th, 2010 - 00:45
Y, I think the delay was that they’re getting rid of paid B-links. That and they’re screwing with us.
August 20th, 2010 - 00:48

i notice the huge additions of website specially last month, actually i made a list of possible domains for me, but after a day of .co released (not on pre-registration), none of my domain is available anymore, so funny.
